Magnolia Hall
History

maggroup.jpg (28018 bytes) A group of local citizens, who recognized the need for a nursing home in the community and began planning for such a facility in 1965, established Magnolia Hall.

Funds were provided by Kent County, the State of Maryland, the federal government and most importantly, by private contributions. A Board of Trustees composed of local citizens has always governed the Center.

On May 13, 1970 the first resident was admitted to the 26-bed facility. As the demand for more nursing home beds increased, the facility has grown to satisfy that need. In the three decades since its opening, the Center has added 67 beds, office space and lounge areas, new kitchen facilities and a beauty/barber shop for residents.

In May 1999, Magnolia Hall became a member of the Chester River Health System.
