Mammography / Breast Health Services

Chester River Hospital Center's stereotactic mammography imaging service is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and is performed by registered radiology technologists and board-certified physicians. The unit is located on the first floor in a discreet, comfortable environment, ideal for this quick less-invasive procedure.

The stereotactic mammography service creates three-dimensional computerized digital images to pinpoint the exact location of a lump, resulting in less tissue being removed than with an open surgical biopsy. Our mammography unit is able to screen women for signs of breast cancer that may have been missed during self-examination or previous testing. It is also used to evaluate symptoms of breast disease such as a lump, nipple discharge, breast pain, dimpling of the skin on the breast, or retraction of the nipple.

Free or Reduced Mammography Screenings

Chester River Hospital Center, in conjunction with the Kent County Health Department, offers free mammography screenings to women who are uninsured or unable to fund the procedure. For more information about this service, please call 410-778-7668 ext. 2400.
