Chestertown, MD�August 19, 2004�Tee off for your community at one of Kent County's premier charity events, Kent Hospice Foundation's 8th annual golf tournament, to be held on Friday, September 17, 2004, at the Chester River Yacht & Country Club, Chestertown, Md.  The shotgun start is at noon.

Funds raised from the golf tournament will be used to provide hospice, outreach and bereavement services to patients and their family members in Kent and northern Queen Anne's counties.

�This tournament's success depends entirely on the continued generosity of local businesses and individuals in our community,� said Judith E. Cooper, chair of the Kent Hospice Foundation Board.  �It is events like these that allow us to continue to provide our programs and services free of charge to patients and their families.� 
�Last year this event raised $40,000 (net), and it is our goal to exceed that figure this year,� said Cooper. 
The tournament's registration fee is $175 per person or $700 per foursome and includes greens fee, cart, buffet lunch, snacks and beverages on the course, entry into team competition, prizes, one ticket to the awards reception, and a $100 charitable tax deduction per player. Golfers will also have an opportunity to participate in a putting contest to win $20,000 and several raffle drawings.  Sponsorships at all levels are needed.

For those interested in attending the awards reception only, reception tickets are available for $30 per person.  Reception attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the prize and raffle drawings.
