Pediatrics

The Pediatrics Unit at Chester River Hospital Center is a four-bed unit which serves infants, adolescents and children to 18 years old. The unit is expressly designed around the special needs of children, and can be expanded to a six-bed unit.

Board-certified pediatric staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are trained to adapt to the unique needs, fears and behaviors of children by providing age-appropriate developmental interventions. The unit also cares for pediatric patients following surgery.

We understand that children may have fears about being in the hospital. Our pediatric nursing staff is experienced and sensitive to meeting your child`s needs.

We focus on family-centered care, because we recognize that when a child becomes ill and hospitalized it affects the entire family. Our staff is part of an interdisciplinary team that works with families to care for their child.
