FOR RELEASE: Immediately

Hospital's Mammographic Imaging Service
Is Accredited
.

The mammographic imaging service of Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital has been reaccredited by the American College of Radiology.

The accreditation program provides the public, referring physicians, other health care providers and insurance companies with evidence that a facility provides quality patient care. The program requires that the personnel providing these services meet specific qualifications. The facility must also meet equipment requirements and demonstrate ongoing quality assurance. Finally, experts evaluate the quality of actual patient images or treatment records.

The ACR is a nonprofit professional society whose primary purposes are to improve service to the patient, advance the science of radiology, study the socioeconomic aspects of the practice of radiology, and encourage continuing education for radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and persons practicing in allied professional fields.
