Kathleen Loomis, a resident of Grasonville, has joined the Chester River Health System, Chestertown, as director of marketing and public relations.

For the past three years, Loomis worked at Shore Health System as communications specialist and then as publications specialist and webmaster. Prior to that she was a freelance public relations and marketing consultant for 11 years and before that she served as director of communications for several different trade associations in Washington, D.C., and Virginia.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree in communication and public relations from American University and has taken graduate level marketing and communication courses at Fordham University and New York University.

The Chester River Health System, which includes Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chester River Home Care & Hospice and Magnolia Hall Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, provides community-wide healthcare through a network of community-based services.
