Harry Ross, M.D.,

Harry Ross, M.D., who was a member of the medical staff of Kent & Queen Anne’s Hospital for 43 years, died at his home on July 11. He was 77.

Dr. Ross, who served as medical staff president in 1971, retired from the active medical staff in December 1999 and became an honorary member. He played a major role in assisting the hospital in receiving its first accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

“Dr. Ross was one of the pioneering physicians on the medical staff of Kent & Queen Anne’s Hospital. His leadership and foresight helped the hospital achieve the highest level of patient care and satisfaction,” noted William R. Kirk, Jr., president and chief executive officer. Dr. Ross joined the medical staff in 1957.

Dr. Ross was a moving force behind the establishment of Magnolia Hall Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a member of Chester River Health System. He served as Magnolia Hall’s first medical director.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Susan Ross, M.D., and the members of his family.
