Neurologist Joins
Kent & Queen Anne’s Hospital Medical Staff

John J. Kelly, M.D., professor and chairman of the department of neurology of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Care Sciences and director of the George Washington University Neurological Institute, has joined the Kent & Queen Anne’s Hospital’s medical staff.

Dr. Kelly is a graduate of Brown University and Yale Medical School. He completed his residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and fellowships in both neurology and electrophysiology at the Mayo Graduate School in Rochester, Minnesota.

He has held the position of professor of neurology at Tufts Medical School and senior neurologist at the New England Medical Center in Boston and assistant professor of neurology at the Mayo Medical School. He has also worked with the United States Public Health Service as the medical director of the Indian Health Clinic in Poplar, Montana.

He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has authored and co-authored many books, papers and original articles and has maintained an extensive speaking schedule.

Dr. Kelly will see patients at the local hospital on Fridays with two services being offered: electroencephalograms (EEGs) and electromyelograms (EMGs). The second is a new service to diagnose muscle and nerve disorders.

Dr. Kelly and his wife, Patricia, have a second home in Kent County.
