Better Breathing Support Group

This group offers education to help patients meet the day-to-day challenges of living with a chronic lung disorder. Learn to improve quality of life and maximize independence by understanding disease management. The group meets on the third Tuesday of odd number months at 12:30 p.m. For more information call Steve Eisemann, BS, RRT, Respiratory Care Clinical Coordinator at (410) 778-3300, ext. 2005.

Healthy Hearts Club

The Healthy Hearts Club was formed for individuals who have heart disease, their families and anyone else who wants to learn more about the disease. Participants learn about lifestyle changes and medical interventions to help them live with cardiovascular disease. Emotional support is also provided through the group.

The Club meets the second Tuesday of every month except August at 7:00 p.m. in the Medical Services Building Conference Room. Each meeting has an educational portion followed by an open session for group discussion. Guest speakers are often invited. Members also receive a free monthly newsletter.

The Diabetic Support Group

The Diabetic Support Group is dedicated to providing current information to diabetic patients and their families as well as an opportunity to socialize and provide emotional support to group members.

Who can attend the Diabetic Support Group?

The Diabetic Support Group is open to all diabetics and their families.

When does the Diabetic Support Group meet?

The Diabetic Support Group meets the fourth Tuesday of every month except August at 7:00 PM in the conference room in the Medical Services Building at Chester River Hospital Center.

How are the meetings conducted?

Each meeting has an educational portion followed by an open session for group discussion.  Guest speakers are invited as often as possible.  Refreshments are served at the end of each meeting.

Do I need to register to attend the monthly meetings of the Diabetic Support Group?

There is no registration required.  However, if you would like to receive our monthly newsletter, which also serves as a reminder of the upcoming meeting, please call and give us your name and address.  There is no charge for the newsletter.

Is there a fee to attend the Diabetic Support Group?

There is no charge for attending the monthly meeting.

The Cancer Support Group

The Cancer Support Group is dedicated to providing current information to cancer patients and their families as well as an opportunity to socialize and provide emotional support to group members.

Who can attend the Cancer Support Group?

The Cancer Support Group is open to all cancer patients, their families, and anyone interested in learning more about the disease and advances in its treatment and prevention.

When does the Cancer Support Group Meet?

The Cancer Support Group meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7:30PM in the Cafeteria Meeting Room at Chester River Hospital Center.

How are the meetings conducted?

Each meeting has an educational portion followed by an open session for group discussion.  Guest speakers are invited as often as possible.  Refreshments are served at the end of each meeting.

Do I need to register to attend the monthly meetings of the Cancer Support Group?

There is no registration required.

There is no charge for attending the Cancer Support Group's monthly meeting.

Ostomy Support Group

The Ostomy Support Group is dedicated to providing current information to ostomate patients and their families (an ostomate is a patient who has had a surgical procedure that bypasses the body's natural waste elimination process).  In addition, meetings give members an opportunity to discuss problems and seek advice from people in a similar situation, and an opportunity to socialize.

Who can attend the Ostomy Support Group?

The Ostomy Support Group is open to all ostomates and their families.

When does the Ostomy Support Group meet?

The Ostomy Support Group meets quarterly (February, May, September, and November) on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Chester River Hospital Center.

How are the meetings conducted?

Each meeting has an educational portion followed by group discussion.  Guest speakers are invited as often as possible.   Refreshments are served at the end of each meeting.

Do I need to register to attend the quarterly meetings of the Ostomy Support Group?

There is no registration required.   However, if you'd like to receive our quarterly newsletter, which also serves as a reminder of the upcoming meetings, please call and give us your name and address.   There is no charge for the newsletter.

Is there a fee to attend the Ostomy Support Group?

There is no charge for attending the meetings.
