Chester River Hospital Auxiliary To Host An Evening At The Theatre Fundraiser to Benefit The Kitty Clements Scholarship Fund
Chester River Hospital Auxiliary will host an evening at the theatre fundraiser on Thursday, November 19, at Church Hill Theatre featuring the comedy show “The West Side Waltz”. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a hors d'oeuvres buffet at St. Luke's Parish Hall in Church Hill. At 8:00 p.m. guests will proceed to Church Hill Theatre for the show "The West Side Waltz", with an intermission of coffee and dessert. There will be a cash bar and a door prize. Food will be provided by Jeff Carroll of Amuse Bouche Catering. This fundraiser will benefit the Kitty Clements Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to students majoring in healthcare.
The Kitty Clements Scholarship Fund was established in January 2001 in memory of Kitty, a devoted volunteer at both the Chester River Hospital Center and the Christmas Shop. The scholarship provides students in healthcare up to $3,000 per year in return for working at the hospital upon graduation. To date, the Clements Scholarship has sponsored 59 students, including 12 nursing graduates, 3 radiology graduates and 1 nuclear medicine graduate—all currently employed at Chester River Hospital Center. The combined scholarship awarded to these 16 graduates totaled $91,877, the majority of which has come from proceeds from past Christmas Shops. Currently, there are 9 active participants in the Kitty Clements Scholarship Fund program.
Tickets are available for purchase at $75 per person, which includes food and theatre ticket. Seats are limited. If you wish to attend or would like to make a contribution to the Kitty Clements Scholarship Fund, please call Jo Ann Bowdle at 410-778-0397.
