Chester River Hospital Center’s Open House & Ribbon-cutting Ceremony For New Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department
Chester River Hospital Center hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department on Thursday, October 8, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Local government officials, chamber members from Kent County and Queen Anne’s County, as well as patients and employees of Chester River Health System attended the celebration.
The celebration featured the unveiling of a plaque in honor of Connie and Carl Ferris, two long-time, very generous supporters of Chester River Hospital Center. The Ferris’ have sponsored a dollar-for-dollar fundraising challenge for the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department and will donate up to $50,000. A second plaque in memory of Dr. Harry Ross was presented, as well as a plaque in honor of Sherrie Hill, RN, for equipment for the new center.
Sherrie Hill, RN, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Clinical Coordinator, commented “My staff and I are excited that the new space for the Cardiopulmonary Rehab allows for more equipment and is more patient-friendly and patient-focused for the rehabilitation we provide our patients.”
The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department is part of the Chester River Hospital Center. The department offers cardiac rehab phases II, III and IV, as well as pulmonary rehab phases II, III, and IV. Adult fitness is offered, which is a physician referred program for patients needing risk factor modification.
