Automated Teller Machine

An ATM machine, maintained by Peoples Bank of Kent County, is located in the main lobby on the first floor of the hospital.

Cafeteria and Vending Machines

All visitors are welcome to dine in the hospital cafeteria, which serves breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday, in the dining room on the second floor of the hospital. Vending machines are located in the main lobby in the emergency department waiting area and on the second floor across from the cafeteria.

Breakfast: 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday
Lunch: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday

Smoking

Chester River Hospital Center recognizes that tobacco smoke is a health hazard not only for smokers but also for those who breathe the smoke. Thus, the hospital maintains a smoke-free environment and prohibits smoking in all areas of the hospital including the Medical Services Building, all buildings on the hospital grounds and at all entrances.

For those who desire to smoke, smoking must be confined to the courtyard and designated exterior smoking areas away from the entrances to the hospital.

Chester River Hospital Center is located at 100 Brown Street in Chestertown, Maryland. To reach the hospital from the north, take US Route 213 south to Chestertown. Turn left at Brown Street. The hospital is on the left.

To reach the hospital from the south, take US Route 213 north to Chestertown. Turn right at Brown Street. The hospital is on the left.

Gift Shop

The gift shop is located in the main lobby, and is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Cards, gifts, candy, stamps, newspapers, magazines and other items are available.

Telephones

Public telephones are located in the main lobby and throughout the hospital for your convenience.

Visiting Hours

Family members and friends are welcome to visit at Chester River Hospital Center. We ask that you observe the following visitation schedule:

General patient areas: 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Critical Care areas: noon - 1:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Maternity: noon - 1:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Please try to limit visitors to two at a time for your own welfare and that of other patients and visitors in the hospital. Children may visit patients if they are accompanied by an adult.

Volunteering

Chester River Hospital Center volunteers are an integral part of the compassionate and committed care provided to our patients. Volunteers fulfill numerous services at the hospital including delivery of mail and flowers, working at the gift shop and at the Nearly New resale shop.
